History

1997

The birth of KievBuild (Building materials, equipment and services). The share of international exhibitors amounted to 85%. This was the highest rate of international participation among any other building show organized in the Ukraine previously.

1998

KievBuild witnessed a drastic increase of interest among Finnish building materials & equipment manufacturers.

1999

There was a record number of Polish exhibitors with a group occupying over 40% of the show.

2000

There was a considerable amount of growth in the number of Russian exhibitors. KievBuild has become a springboard for companies entering the Ukrainian building market. A lot of new representative offices of international companies were opened after KievBuild 2000.

The number of Ukrainian exhibitors increased considerably. KievBuild promoted the strength of their brand and increased new business contacts as well as active promotion of products and business development.

2001

The Architecture and Design Festival opened in the grounds of KievBuild. The festival represents the best show pieces of Ukrainian architecture, as well as expositions of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine and Architecture Academy of Ukraine.

The KievBuild exposition of manufacturers and suppliers of building materials and equipment was demonstrated at the Kiev Sports Palace. At the same time, the Architecture and Design Festival was held at the Ukrainsky Dom exhibition centre. KievBuild became known as ‘Building Week Ukraine' introducing a new approach in building exhibitions in Ukraine and bringing together architectures, builders, suppliers and manufacturers of building materials and equipment under the same exhibition area, showing all stages of the building cycle — from the architect's initial idea to the finished project.

2002

The best piece from the Architecture and Design Festival was honoured with a prize from the National Union of Architects in Ukraine, Volyuta (the annual prize in architecture).

2003

During Building Week Ukraine 2003, a new project was launched — the 1st International Conference Building and Building Materials 2003. The conference was a fantastic opportunity to increase communication channels through analysing the experience gained by introducing leading building technologies and materials, and establishing contacts within the professional audience. The conference showed that it was the best was of informing those who make decisions in building branch. The conference has become a traditional event at Building Week Ukraine (KievBuild) to bring together representatives of leading Ukrainian and international building companies, heads of enterprises, representatives of state authorities and chief architects of Ukrainian cities and regions.

KievBuild receives official support from the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Labour.

2004

KievBuild showed an increased number of companies representing their products for the first time in the Ukrainian market, especially among German and Russian exhibitors. Germany had a big representation with a national stand.

At the Architecture and Design Festival 2004, ATM company (Kiev, Ukraine) — The art of pools building and Deutsche Steinzeug Keramik GmbH (Schwarzenfeld, Germany) launched Water Taming competition that became the first annual architectural competition to promote design and building of pools and water-parks in Ukraine.

KievBuild receives official support from the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

 

2005

KievBuild 2005 saw the birth of new shows; Technostone (Natural stone and technologies), Plastex (equipment and technologies for plastic and rubber manufacturing), and ConMac (Road, building, handling machinery. Equipment, machinery and units for mining industry), which have now become annual events and since 2006, has been held in pavilion 2 of the International Exhibition Centre.

2006

The number of exhibitors increased two and a half times in comparison with 2005. The show filled out two pavilions.

For the first time KievBuild was represented by the following countries: collective stands from Korea, China, Greece, Brazil. Hardware Ukraine 2006 was organized within the exhibition where companies dealing with metal-roll, metal wares, equipment for wire, cable ware, metal cord, ropes, reeds producing and equipment were represented. Stroykhimiya had its 3rd international conference involving POLIREM.

2007

In 2007 the exposition area of the Kiev Build Show was 21,000. It was visited by more than 27,000 experts. Its program included such sectors as: Interiors, Heat Vent, Windows&Doors, Santechnika, Landscape&Garden, Ceramica, Decotex, HardWare. Companies from China, Turkey, the UK, Greece and other countries presented their expositions. 

2008

In 2008 the Kiev Build area grew by 4500 sq.m. comparing to 2007 and totalled 25 500 sq.m. The show was visited by over 30,000 experts. Among exhibitors were world leaders of building and associated industries: EUROSTONE ENGINEERING, JUMA VOELLER, GBC MARMI & MARMI BACCI, SK INNOVATIONS, Strommash, VELOX, Welser Profile, Technopark, SCANDI, Runatel Eko, MD GROUP, INKERAM etc.

2009

Despite the complicated economic situation at the real estate market and in the national construction industry in whole, the Kiev Build Show managed not only to make its permanent guests and exhibitors happy with innovations and business atmosphere, but also extended its participant list with new exhibitors from such strategically important construction sectors as TechnoStone and ConMac. The total area of 2009 show was about 20,000 sq.m. the number of visitors exceeding 15 000 experts. Companies from 30 countries of the world including the UK, Italy, Greece, China, and Turkey, took part in the show. The program included the 9th All-Ukrainian ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN 2009 Festival as well as UKRAINA KVITUCHA Landscape Festival. The national stands of Luxemburg and Finland were demonstrated, too.

2010

This year, E3Forum — the International Forum on Eco-Friendly and Energy Efficient Construction — was held within KievBuild for the first time. Representatives of the following international companies presented papers: Dialog-Classic, Saint-Gobain Construction Products Ukraine, Knauf Insulation and Íîåðð. Another event in the business programme was Inter'Year 2010, the 8th Open All-Ukrainian Competition for the Best-Realised Interior. The Show-Room, which featured master classes by AE&Design, Centre of Ukrainian Culture and Art, and Tabooret Interiors Laboratory, attracted a lot of attention.

The specialised events at the exhibition, and major international and national exhibitors attracted a large number of trade visitors and industry specialists. KievBuild 2010 was visited by 15,000 construction professionals, 95% of whom were architects, builders, designers, and directors of construction and transport companies.
