About Festival The 12th festival Architecture and Design in Kyiv The 12th festival Architecture and Design will be held at the International Exhibition Center (Kyiv, Brovarsky Ave, 15) February, 29, to March, 2, 2012. National Union of Architects of Ukraine together with ITE Group Plc (UK) and Premier Expo (Ukraine) welcomes to see best works of the Ukrainian and foreign architects, as well as visit conferences and roundtables. The Festival is held alongside with the major Ukrainian 16th International Building Exhibition KyivBuild 2012. Festival stands will show, in particular, the General plan of Kyiv, display of Zodchestvo 2011 festival laureates and Green Project Festival (Moscow), a retrospective exhibition of the best Ukrainian interiors of 2000 - 2011, show of Sofia Kyivska National Reserve, works of participants of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine Premium, stands the design studios. In 2012, the terms of the award changed, for the status of the national award was given to the 10th International Competition Inter'Year 2012 for the best realised interior. Actual trends of sustainable urban management, including safe and innovative, eco-friendly and energy efficient urban development became the key issues of KyivBuild 2012 business programme, Festival and the 3rd Ukraine's international forum on eco-friendly and energy efficient construction e3forum. Agenda includes general planning and zoning, town-planning experience of Russia, the Strategy of development of Kyiv until 2025, contemporary vision of urban public space, the impact of "green architecture" objects to the city and much more. The president of the National Union of Architects Volodymyr Gusakov and Kyiv's chief architect Sergey Tselovalnik moderate one of the events, Professor of the Moscow Architectural Institute Vyacheslav Glazychev, chief designer of Moscow Igor Voskresensky, director of the Institute Grazhdanselstroy Alexander Chizhevsky, vice-president of the Kyiv organization of NSAU Elena Oliynyk, professor of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture Volodymyr Nudelman and other experts will speak at the event. The Festival is supported by the International Union of Architects (UIA). Delegation of the Union of Architects of Russia, headed by its president Andrey Bokov, is among the honoured guests of the Festival. Event agenda would be useful and interesting for mayors of Ukrainian and foreign cities, main architects and competent municipals, investors and developers, real estate market participants and representatives of NGOs, planning organisations and other institutions, as well as anyone interested in creating future cities. The National Union of Architects of Ukraine Award For ten years, Premier Expo (Ukraine) and ITE Group Plc (UK), together with the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, and government and public organisations, have been organising the Architecture and Design Festival, which presents the best work of Ukrainian and international architects. In 2003, the National Union of Architects of Ukraine established the Ukrainian prize in architecture, the National Union of Architects of Ukraine Award. The ‘Large Volute' and ‘Volute' prizes were also established. - The ‘Large Volute' is the grand prix, given for outstanding achievement in the field of architecture for completed projects only. It can be awarded in any category.
- The ‘Voluta' prize is given annually in each category, for both completed projects and designs.
Architects, irrespective of their specialisation and place of work, are invited to take part in the competition for the National Union of Architects of Ukraine Award. Categories - Town construction

- For significant personal contribution to the development of national architecture
- For all categories: designs and completed projects in period 2005-2010.

Participation in the competition is free for all architects (no more than two models).
